About Marco Ma

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC # 17221) under the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. My work focus on trauma and familial/relational conflicts (such as intimate partner violence, couple conflicts, and familial conflicts).

I am specialized in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), an evidence-based effective treatment for clients experienced traumatic life events (click here to know more). I have also received advanced training in treating structural dissociation, trauma somatization, and unverbalizable trauma.

As for couple work, I am trained in Gottman Method level II. My professional development is ongoing, and my goal is to further expand my skills in treating clients with complex trauma and couple conflicts.

I believe that every soul has its inherent worth and beauty despite the hurts from the world that might have darkened our lens to see ourselves and others.

No matter what tool I use, my intention is always to reawaken the lost connection to clients’ essence of being embedded with inherent worth and resilience.

I am not constrained by the role as a counsellor or therapist. I am also a witness to clients’ life journeys seeking truth, moving past pain, and reconnecting with oneself and others.

This intention of work guides my endeavor to create a safe and warm space for clients, encourage clients to explore their inner strengths and provide effective and tailored treatments
